Lance Grainger received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in 1968,
and his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1990, and 1995.
He has worked in the utility, pulp & paper, petrochemical, mining, cement, pipeline and consulting
industries. His specialty is in the area of industrial power system design and analysis, with
emphasis on harmonics, the application and protection of rotating equipment, and the design of
substations and grounding. He also has many years of experience in the design of electrical,
PLC and instrumentation systems for refineries and petrochemical plants.
